The Champions League final is almost here. A season-long journey comes to an end with a 90-minute battle between two of the biggest, most successful teams in European football history.
Liverpool head into the game as marginal favourites, but they face seismic opponents in the shape of Real Madrid. The pair boast 19 Champions League and European Cup titles between them, 13 in favour of the Spanish giants, six for the Reds.
Both teams have fought hard to reach this showpiece game, and neither has enjoyed a completely straightforward journey, with the semi-finals in particular proving to be thrilling encounters.
Liverpool's two-goal first-leg lead was obliterated by Villarreal in the second leg. They were left shell-shocked at half time as the Yellow Submarine levelled things up. However, the Reds struck back with three goals to finally dislodge their tricky opponents.
Real Madrid trailed 5-3 on aggregate going into the 90th minute of their second-leg clash with Manchester City but two last-ditch strikes and an early penalty in extra time saw Los Blancos triumph 6-5 in a bewildering reversal of fortunes.

The match will kick off at 8pm UK time as with all Champions League knockout ties.
A huge TV audience is expected for the game across the continent with the primetime slot set to draw in millions of football fans and casual viewers.
How to watch the Champions League final on TV
BT Sport has made the decision to make the final available for free to everyone from 6pm.
You can watch the match for free by visiting the BT Sport website or via the BT Sport app or BT Sport YouTube channel.
Alternatively, the game will be shown live on BT Sport 1 and fans with an existing BT Sport monthly pass can also tune in without signing up to a contract.
Regular TV subscribers can also stream matches via the BT Sport website or BT Sport app on a variety of devices including laptops, smartphones and tablets.
